So here are a few pics of our trip to see the Lion King! We stopped to eat at the Olive Bistro, which is a little organic bistro right across the street from the theater, and I must say, it was most delicious. The show was at the Capitol Theater in Salt Lake, and it was amazing! If you haven't seen it you should definitely put it on your list. The costumes were INCREDIBLE, with giraffes that had stilts on their hands and legs, and giant elephants, and everything was so colorful! There was even a cheetah that was attached to the actor so that every movement he made with his head or his arms moved the cheetah's face and paws..I don't know if my explanation sounds that amazing ha ha, but it was! There were so many different animals and costumes! The music of course was awesome, and they had tribal drum players up in the side boxes of the theater, so that made for cool effects, and the animals would parade down the isles of the theater every so often, I really can't say enough for how amazing it was. And Zazu was hilarious, every once in a while he would say some random comment that you just know was not in the script..like something about buying curtains at Target-pronounced tar-jay. Unfortunately there was no picture taking allowed...not that we remembered our camera-these are all from Sam's phone-plus there was definitely an usher whose sole purpose was to spy for cameras and reprimand secret picture takers ha ha...she made for great pre-show entertainment. All in all it was one amazing trip! :)
